The Shirley Louise Foundation Launches Applications for Two Annual Scholarships to Support Service-Oriented Students and First-Generation Leaders
[INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA – [9/01/2025] – The Shirley Louise Foundation, a family-run organization dedicated to uplifting those working behind the scenes to better their communities, proudly announced the opening of two revamped scholarship funds: The Shirley Louise Memorial Scholarship and the Community Change Award.
In line with the Foundation's tagline, "Service-First. Community Driven. Family-Strong.," these awards recognize individuals committed to hard work, character, and community impact.
"Our family’s legacy is rooted in 75 years of dedication to education and the belief that everyone has value," said Shirley Swanson, Founder and CEO. "These scholarships allow us to directly invest in the next generation of leaders who embody the principles of justice, character, diversity, equity, and inclusion."
Scholarship Details:
The Shirley Louise Memorial Scholarship: This program will award $5,000 to 15 deserving graduate students across the country who demonstrate a sustained history of exceptional community involvement and strong moral character.
Community Change Award: This award will provide $2,500 to 25 individuals seeking higher education who are first-generation college students. The fund aims to support those working to better their communities and align with the Foundation’s commitment to diversity and cultural humility.
